MADERA – Madera County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) is reporting a total of 2075 positive test results as of August 2, 2020.
According to the MCDPH COVID-19 Dashboard, there are 931 active cases, with 34 Madera County residents hospitalized in Madera County hospitals. Of the 2075 positive test results 1,112 have recovered.
372 were contracted through person to person with 210 community spread. One was travel-related, and 1,492 are still under investigation.
There have been 4 additional deaths since last reported for a total of 32, all with underlying health conditions. According to the MCDPH as of July 30 there have been 5 deaths associated with a skilled nursery facility in Madera.
Area D, which includes the Madera County Mountain Communities, is showing an increase of 5 positive test results bringing the total to 118.
There have been a total of 18,931 tests results with 16,856 testing negative out of a population of 157,327 (2019 US Census Bureau.)
