Madera County Compact to Host 6th Annual Manufacturing Day

MADERA — The Madera County Compact and several manufacturing companies will soon welcome Madera County students to their 6th Annual Manufacturing Day.

The event is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This is the sixth year in a row that Madera County Compact will celebrate Manufacturing Day in collaboration with various community partners, showing support for local manufactures and increasing awareness of manufacturing careers with students.

Approximately 50 students from Chowchilla, Liberty, Madera South, Pioneer Technical Center, and Yosemite high schools will be given opportunities to:

  • tour one of four manufacturing plants
  • attend Madera Community College to research career pathways for manufacturing careers
  • tour the Center for Advanced Manufacturing at Madera Community College Center

This year the Madera County Compact and several manufacturing companies such as CertainTeed Corp., EVAPCO, Pacific Ethanol and Steel Structures Inc. are planning activities and demonstrations for students to learn about manufacturing companies and careers that exist in Madera County.

The DoingWhatMATTERS for Jobs and the Economy Initiative (California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office), Madera County Compact, Madera County Superintendent of Schools, Madera Community College Center, and Madera County Workforce Investment Board are committed to perform at the highest levels in their respective roles and responsibility to position Madera County to lead the economic growth of the nation.
