MADERA COUNTY–Madera County has begun utilizing an innovative on-line map service, Genasys Protect (formerly Zonehaven), for the public to reference as an additional tool to receive prompt, accurate information during an emergency.
Genasys Protect allows community members to go to their website or smartphone app and enter their address to see if they are impacted by any ongoing incidents, making it an efficient and accurate way to view current conditions.
To efficiently respond when evacuations are issued, it’s important for residents to know what zone their address is in. The Madera County Sheriff’s Office encourages community members to “Know Your Zone”– BEFORE an emergency strikes.

Madera County will continue to issue MCALERT notifications by text and voice call to alert residents of Advisories, Evacuation Warnings, and Evacuation Orders resulting from wildfires, natural disasters, or other emergencies.
