Identities Of Yosemite Visitors Released In Taft Point Fatalities

YOSEMITE — Yosemite National Park has identified the people who died falling from Taft Point on Wednesday, Oct 24, 2018.

They are Vishnu Viswanath, male, age 29, and Meenakshi Moorthy, female, age 30. Both were citizens of India who were living in the United States.

The College of Engineering in Chengannur posted this message on social media Saturday:

College of Engineering, Chengannur (CEC) deeply mourns the accidental demise of its two alumni—Vishnu Viswanath and Meenakshi Moorthy—belonging to the BTech 2006-10 Computer Science and Engineering batch.

Our hearts go to the friends and family members of this lovely couple. May their souls rest in peace.

Chengannur is a municipal town in the Alappuzha district of the state of Kerala in South India.

According to a report from ABC news, the couple has an Instagram account featuring their travels across the United States, under the name Holidays and  HappilyEverAfters.

Yosemite National Park continues to investigate this case, which will take several weeks, say officials. No further details are available at this time.
