Highway 140 Reopens; Sandbags Available to Local Residents

MARIPOSA COUNTY — Highway 140 has reopened after authorities closed the road Sunday in advance of expected debris flow created by this weekend’s heavy rains.

The closure ran from the Briceburg Grade to Cedar Lodge.

Authorities said Monday that Mariposa County residents dealing with localized flooding caused by the storm can pick up sandbags at the Mormon Bar and Don Pedro volunteer fire stations.

Those planning to travel in the area can check https://roads.dot.ca.gov/ for updates.
