Highway 140 Into Yosemite Scheduled To Reopen

YOSEMITE — Conditions permitting, El Portal Road (Highway 140) into Yosemite is scheduled to reopen tomorrow, Sunday, June 18, at 6 a.m.

The first two miles of the road from the park boundary will be signed as a no-stopping zone.

Hopefully, this will help to ease the miles-long backups at the Highway 41 south entrance that motorists saw today.

As is always the case, conditions can change rapidly. Be sure to check before you go.

For current road conditions in the park, call 209/372-0200 (press 1 then 1).

Park officials would like to thank all the park employees who worked hard to remove the rock, assess the underground sewer line, and make temporary road repairs.
