OAKHURST — Officers from the California Highway Patrol, along with other certified technicians, will be conducting a car seat check-up event on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church.
Did you know that critical misuse for child restraints is about 73 percent? Don’t put your child in danger – let the experts help you to ensure your child seat is properly installed and being correctly used.
Those attending are asked to bring their vehicle, their child, and the car seat that the child is currently using. Car seat technicians will be available to check the current child safety seat for defects and recalls.
Technicians will also educate adults on the proper installation methods to ensure each child is properly secured in their child seat. A limited number of child passenger safety seats will be available at no charge.
No appointment is needed, just stop on be and see if your car seat measures up. There is no charge.
