“The Oakhurst Christmas Tree Lighting has become a tradition for families all over the mountain area and beyond. Many valley families with ties to our community join us every year to kick off the Christmas season. We’re committed to keeping the tradition alive for many generations to come.” says Belinda Ditton of Century 21 Ditton Realty, who has hosted the event for many years.
The Annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting takes place on the first Saturday of December each year, at the Talking Bear Corner of Hwy 41 and Rd 426. The event has grown to include the Victorian Village parking lot up above, and lots of vendors and activities are participating.
Santa Claus will arrive on the fire engine at 6 p.m. and the 40-foot tree will light up. Santa will be available to talk to children and take their Christmas gift wishes personally.
