At 6 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, Yosemite New Life Church in Oakhurst will be showing the movie “Miracle in East Texas,” a western romantic comedy produced by actors Kevin Sorbo and his wife, Sam, who also appear in the film.
The movie, which is also directed by Kevin Sorbo, was inspired by one of the biggest oil strikes in the history of the world. The story is about two aging con-men at the dawn of the Great Depression who convince several new widows to invest in their worthless oil wells. This mostly true story will make you laugh, shed a tear, and give you pride in the good-old, God-Blessed American way. The movie is free and popcorn and a beverage will be provided. Movie-goers are welcome to bring snacks or food to share if they choose.
