DID YOU KNOW…
75% of those rescued from the sex trafficking industry spent time in the foster care system. The statistic usually heard is 60%, but that includes only girls, and sadly, boys suffer from being sex trafficked as well. 75% of the incarcerated population and half of the unhoused population also spent time in the foster care system.
These are all areas we typically serve as people who care, but isn’t it a better plan to catch children upstream of the system by strengthening families by providing beds, diapers, help with utility bills or getting a vehicle running again so mom and/or dad can get to work to to be able to provide for their children? We want to collaborate with child welfare agencies to ease the burden placed on their shoulders to help these vulnerable children. Our aim is to stabilize the family environment in order to avoid children being removed from their families due to neglect due to poverty. We want to be partners in this effort by providing off-budget resources of volunteers who simply care and are willing to fund these items.
