Planning for “elderhood?” It looks different than it did a few years ago. People are viewing their next chapter in life as an opportunity for growth and enrichment as well as security and comfort. The Mariposa AAUW branch (American Association of University Women) is hosting a two-part series on this latest trend of creative aging.
Part One of the series, titled “Be Prepared,” will focus on creating the peace of mind that frees us for more creative adventures. This will be a panel of expert speakers on tentative topics such as avoiding elder scams, preparing wills and trusts, having adequate insurance and financial security, knowing what to do if there’s a fire next door and creating a stored record of practical information that others might need to know if someone is incapacitated.
Part Two of the series, titled “Be Positive,” is scheduled for Saturday May 18, 2019 at 10:00 am at a location to be announced. The program will provide a buffet of interesting options for enrichment in the senior years, each presented as interactive exhibits by local experts. Details will be forthcoming.
