AHWAHNEE—Hi, I’m Poppy.
I am so handsome that I wear my tuxedo all the time. Don’t you agree? I am only 5 months old, so we have lots of time to grow old together and HAVE FUN. I’d fit nicely in your lap—or your heart.
I’m being taken care of well at my temporary residence, the Animal Care and Adoption Center in Ahwahnee, but I’d really, really, really like to have a home and a lap of my own.
Here’s lookin’ at you, kid.
The folks at the center call me a “domestic short hair” but I call me HANDSOME. (Did I say that already?) Right now I only weigh a little over 9 pounds, so I’m nice and portable.
Even though I still have all of my “parts,” if you know what I mean, I can go home with you today. You’d have to leave the nice folks at the adoption center a refundable check for $200. That ensures that I’ll be back for my appointment on March 18 to get rid of those, um, parts. They’ll tear that check up, though when you bring me in for “that operation.”.
