Delays Expected on State Routes 49 and 140

MARIPOSA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will
conduct various work next week on State Routes 49 and 140.
Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

Route 49
• One-way traffic control from the Madera/Mariposa County Line to Varain Road
In Mariposa for road striping operations from 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. beginning
Sunday, August 1, through Friday, August 6, and from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for
drainage work beginning Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, 2021.
• One-way traffic control from Route 120 to Bear Valley Road for drainage work
from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. beginning Monday, August 2, through Thursday,
August 5, 2021.

Route 140
• One-way traffic control from the Bear Creek Bridge in Briceburg to Foresta Road
in El Portal for utility work beginning Monday, August 2, through Saturday, August
7, 2021, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• One-way traffic control from Briceburg Road to Foresta Road for utility work
beginning Monday, August 2, through Saturday, August 7, 2021, from 6:00 a.m. to
7:00 p.m.
Motorists should expect 5-minute delays and take alternate routes whenever possible.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic
incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related
issues.
