COARSEGOLD — Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino reopened Monday morning (June 1) at 9 a.m., with its casino floor modified to allow for social distancing and all guests required to don masks while inside the property.
Other changes included modifying entrances, limited seating at gaming tables and fewer available slot machines on the casino floor.
Guests temperatures are being checked at the door, with admission strictly limited to adults 21 years of age and older.
Several of the dining establishments are open but the buffet and hotel and spa sections of the property remain closed for booking to the general public, with casino officials yet to announce a reopening date for the resort’s 400 newly renovated hotel rooms. However, the resort’s Reward Club members may still book their specific hotel offers, according to resort management.
Chukchansi had been shuttered since March 20 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The safety of our guests and team members has always been the number one priority,” said a message posted on the resort’s website. “In that spirit, we have installed extra hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the property and intensified our already strict cleaning and disinfecting practices to provide the cleanest, safest environment possible.
“All touch-surfaces will be sanitized regularly,” resort officials said. “Our team members are also trained on COVID-19 safety and sanitation protocols.”
