Mark E Holland

September 21,1978 – November 19, 2023

Beloved USFS Fire Captain/Patrolman Mark Holland passed away in a tragic accident on November 19th, 2023.

 

Mark is survived by his parents Carl and Laura Holland, Sister Carla Holland-Shuster, Nieces Hayley and Alison Shuster, Nephew Travis Shuster. Daughters Sadie Burrough and Kamryn Holland.  Step sons Skylar Neville and Tristan Killian. Fiance Angel Lepley.

Mark was a firefighter for the US Forest Service of 26 years.

Mark grew up in Trimmer, CA. and followed his father Carl Hollands Patrolman lead and joined the forest service. His love and inspiration for the mountains came from his days spent at Pine Flat Lake, snow boarding at Sierra Summit, hiking and fishing in our local back country and hunting with his Father locally and with his close family friends in Williams, Az. Mark attended Sierra Elementary and Sierra High School. Mark worked at Daddino’s Egg Ranch in Fresno for awhile and then pursued his career with the forest service.

Marked worked at a number of stations in the High Sierra and Bass Lake Ranger Districts including Blue Canyon, Big Creek, Dinkey, Crane Valley Hot Shots, Sierra Helitack, Fire Captain at Batterson Engine 313, and Patrol 51 in North Fork, CA.

Mark was a Dad, Son, Brother, Uncle, Fiancé and Hero within the community.

Marks passion for cooking, hunting, fishing, the band TOOL and his excellent drumming skills were like no other. Mark lived and loved life to the fullest. His friendliness, kind heart and infectious smile made him well known and well loved by many.

Mark is deeply missed by his loving family, friends and colleagues.

Marks Celebration of life will be held at the North Fork Town Hall on December 11th at 11am..BBQ to follow
