Man Arrested For Meth In Coarsegold

COARSEGOLD – A Mariposa man remains behind bars facing felony drug charges following his arrest early Thursday morning in Coarsegold. Christopher Davis Franksen, 36, was taken into custody at around 2:24 a.m., Oct. 31, on Road 417 near Quartz Mountain Road, just west of Indian Lakes Estates, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.

Weather-Related Accidents Across The Mountain Area

MADERA COUNTY – The first heavy rainfall of the season contributed to slick roads, leading to multiple accidents in the mountain area yesterday. At 1:49 p.m. Olin Wilson, 78, of Mariposa, was southbound on Highway 49 near Knickerbocker Road just north of Ahwahnee, when his Toyota Camry skidded on the hail-covered road and overturned down an embankment, according to CHP.
