Weather-Related Accidents Across The Mountain Area

MADERA COUNTY – The first heavy rainfall of the season contributed to slick roads, leading to multiple accidents in the mountain area yesterday. At 1:49 p.m. Olin Wilson, 78, of Mariposa, was southbound on Highway 49 near Knickerbocker Road just north of Ahwahnee, when his Toyota Camry skidded on the hail-covered road and overturned down an embankment, according to CHP.

Travel Trailer In The Ditch Blocks Hwy 41

COARSEGOLD – Highway 41 was slowed to standstill today due to a single vehicle accident at Serpa Canyon Road. CHP were called to the scene at approximately 2:16 p.m., after a northbound Ford F-250 pulling a 5th wheel trailer swerved to avoid a vehicle that was stopped in the roadway waiting to turn left onto Serpa Canyon.
