Camarena Health’s Urgent Care Clinic Now Open in Oakhurst

OAKHURST — Camarena Health’s new urgent care clinic officially opened Thursday in Oakhurst.

The milestone was announced on the healthcare organization’s Facebook page.

“Not everything that’s urgent is an emergency. For everything from sniffles to stitches, earaches to X-rays, Camarena Health Urgent Care is here for your non-emergency needs!” the post said.

Camarena remodeled the old Sierra Star building (at 49169 Road 426) next to its existing Oakhurst Health Center to create the new facility.

The new urgent care clinic offers X-ray services and is open seven days a week — Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Camarena accepts all types of insurance, including Medi-Cal and Medicare — and as a federally funded community health center, treats all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.

The Madera-based nonprofit currently operates 12 clinics around the county, offering primary care medical, behavioral and dental services at locations in Oakhurst, Coarsegold, Madera, and Chowchilla.

In October, Camarena also rolled out a new mobile health/dental clinic in eastern Madera County.

The specially-equipped unit travels throughout rural Madera County providing medical, dental and behavioral health care to low-income families.

That project was funded by a $550,000 grant from Kaiser Permanente.
