Battle Of The Badges Blood Drive

OAKHURST — Come out and support your local first responders as the 17th annual North Valley Battle of the Badges Blood Drive takes place on Friday, May 4 in the Old Mill Village (Vons parking lot) from 2 – 6 p.m.

At Battle of the Badges Blood Drive, donors have the opportunity to support a favorite agency by giving on their behalf. On arrival at the donation site, a list of some 45 various agencies participating in the drive will be available for donors to review, in order to choose the organization they wish to support.

The Central California Blood Bank covers five counties: Madera, Mariposa, Fresno, Kings and Tulare. Each May, the North Valley competition is held between Madera, Mariposa and Fresno counties. In November, the other two will battle it out.

CHP Oakhurst has set up the drive in town this year, and they’re hoping the mountain community will come out in force to help them win the life-giving competition. A perpetual trophy will be awarded to the winning organization, and donors will receive a free commemorative t-shirt and donor rewards coupons. The Old Mill Village is located at 40050 SR-49.

Can’t make it on Friday but you’ll be in Fresno soon? Stop by the Central Cal Blood Center aka Jenny Eller Donor Center from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, or 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The donation center is located at 4343 W. Herndon in Fresno.
