Back 2 Basics: New Location, Same Great Store And More

OAKHURST — Less than two years after originally opening her signature shop, Back 2 Basics, longtime area resident Lisa Weddle is pleased to invite the community to the ribbon cutting to celebrate the store’s convenient new location.

Once tucked in back behind McDonalds in Oakhurst, Back 2 Basics has now opened its doors in the shopping center where Raley’s is, right next to the Form Fitness gym. B2B is again open every day, at 40041 Hwy 49, Suite 2.

The Oakhurst Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony are set for Thursday, Sept. 7. As always, the shop is open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“After being in the old location behind McDonald’s for about 18 months, we were seeing positive growth,” Lisa explains. However, she continues, “every single day at least one person would come in and ask how long we had been there, and when I would reply, they would be shocked.”

Lisa can barely count the number of times she heard, “I didn’t know there was a clothing store back here.”

Ultimately, the desire for a more prominent location, along with a need for more product space, motivated Lisa to find a new place to hang the Back 2 Basics sign. The spot near the grocery store and gym is a desirable one, right on the corner where it’s easily seen and close to plenty of parking.

Back 2 Basics sells exclusively brand-new clothing, along with jewelry, accessories, neck ties, belts, shoes and more. Merchandise for men, women and children is stocked for just about all shapes and sizes. If she doesn’t already have what you want, Lisa will usually be willing and able to special order for you.

So, with a new, bigger location… what’s different?

“A larger children’s section, a better selection of bras, socks and underwear,” says Lisa. “New lines including Muddy Girl Camo and Buck Wear for men, along with a new department: bedding. I will have a line of 100 percent cotton sheets along with microfiber, and a new line of comforters, as well as bath towels and kitchen towels.”

What customers already loved about Back 2 Basics hasn’t changed.

“Having the basic needs seems to be a hit. I will say that a newer line I have started carrying for the ladies, all made in the USA with graphic designed blouses, is very popular. Just having jeans and work wear makes my customers happy, as well.”

The one thing that most all agree on, Lisa says, is affordable pricing to help with tight budgets. Stop by and say hi.
