Apply Now For Mariposa Community Foundation Grants

MARIPOSA — The Mariposa Community Foundation announces the opening of Community Enrichment Grants for 2016. A limited number of grants up to $1,000 each are available, and applications are invited from Mariposa County nonprofit organizations.

Eligible organizations are Mariposa-based and provide services that improve the quality of life for the communities and residents of the county. They must be recognized by the IRS under IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) as a nonprofit organization, or have applied for this status.

Eligible organizations include those working in the areas of services for children and adults, the arts, or preservation of natural resources.

Successful applications will:

• fund projects that contribute to the growth of the organization, or,

• support a project that will increase the local organization’s services, or,

• provide for an increased awareness in the community about the organization and the needs it meets.

Deadline for submission of applications is Friday Oct. 14.

The application may be mailed to Mariposa Community Foundation, P.O. Box 5008-229, Mariposa, CA 95338.

Each application should be no longer than 4-5 pages and contain the items listed below. You will be contacted with any questions or if additional information is required.

Awards will be announced in November.

Your application must include:

1. Cover letter, signed by an authorized representative of the organization including mailing address, email contact and telephone contact.

2. Executive Summary (no more than one paragraph)

3. Concise narrative (one page is suggested)

-Project description

-Plan for measuring project results

4. Project Budget (expenses and any in-kind funds that may be available)

5. Organization background (mission, major activities, accomplishments)

6. Appendices (attachments)

-Certificate of Incorporation and By-laws

-Verification of tax exempt status (IRS determination letter or IRS acknowledgment of application)

Grant recipients are expected to provide a report to Mariposa Community Foundation showing how the funds were used and results of the project.

Grants are made possible by the Foundation’s Community Enrichment Fund supported by Yosemite Bank, and donations from members of the public.
