Annual Community Baby Shower Moves To Yosemite Lakes

OAKHURST — Do you know a local mom-to-be or someone with small children? Expectant moms and families of children five-and-under are invited to the Sierra Mountain Community Baby Shower on Saturday, Mar. 23 from 9 a.m. to noon at Yosemite Lakes Community Church.

Now in its eighth year, the event is — as always — free.

One of the most special celebrations in the foothills, the community baby shower gives moms the opportunity to bring home free important items for their kids.

This year, organizers are excited about the new location at Yosemite Lakes, following the success of the event at Sierra Vista in Oakhurst. Anyone who has participated before will notice there’s no spa room this time around, as the baby shower team adds focus to the main goal of supporting moms. Most of the community information tables from past years are returning.

As always, volunteer personal shoppers will guide moms through rooms filled with new and used infant and toddler clothing, car seats, swings, blankets, diapers, wipes and more. Mothers are welcome to choose items they need at no charge. All items are limited to availability.

Guests may want to complete their excursion with a visit to one of many resource booths, including a lactation consultant on hand to answer any questions and give away needed breast pumps.

There are lots of volunteer opportunities for this event. For ways to participate please contact event organizers at MountainBabyShower.
