YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK — Park officials announced Friday that power went out in Yosemite Valley on Thursday evening (June 25). The cause of the outage was “downed power lines,” according to a brief press release.
Power is expected to remain off in the area until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.
“On Monday, contracted crews will begin repairs, which will take two or three days,” said the release issued by park officials Friday afternoon.
In order to minimize the impact of future outages on Yosemite Valley residents, the release also said park officials are “looking into getting a generator for residential areas.”
