Search Continues For Man Who Fell From Mist Trail In Yosemite

YOSEMITE — The search continues for a hiker who fell from the Mist Trail into the Merced River in Yosemite National Park yesterday.

On Monday, June 5, at approximately 12:30 p.m., a white, male hiker described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a shaved or bald head, was reported to have fallen from the trail.

Park officials sought the public’s help in identifying the man, and now report that his name is known, but is not being released at this time.

Yosemite Search and Rescue continue to search for the man, and ask that anyone who witnessed the incident please contact Yosemite National Park Dispatch at 209-379-1992.
