Mariposa Deputies Bring Christmas To Kids

Submitted by the Mariposa County Deputy Sheriff’s Association

MARIPOSA — Seasons Greetings… it’s that time of year again! The KOPS for KIDS program has been a staple in our community during the Christmas season and the deputies of the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office are beginning to feel the Christmas spirit.

The KOPS for KIDS program is beginning its 19th year spreading holiday cheer to the children and families of the community of Mariposa County.

Each year the requests from local families needing assistance from the KOPS for KIDS program grows, and we are projecting this to be our biggest year ever.

We are asking that you consider helping the KOPS for KIDS endeavor to make the Christmas dreams of the children of Mariposa County come true! Your donation will help the Deputy Sheriffs Association provide toys, clothing and Christmas cheer.

With the donations received, toys are purchased and delivered to the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, filling the building, where parents then arrive to choose toys for each of their children. These families would not normally be able to provide the Christmas experience for their children due to financial and personal circumstance. It is tremendously rewarding and emotional when these families express their thanks and gratefulness and leave with smiles on their faces.

The members of the Deputy Sheriffs Association and the KOPS for KIDS Program would like to thank you in advance for your help in keeping this valuable community program active and thriving.

If you are a parent or guardian of children under the age of 18 and would like to register for this program, applications are available at the Mariposa County Human Services Building located at 5362 Lemee Lane in Mariposa.

Monetary Donations or new and unwrapped toys can be sent via mail to the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office at P.O. Box 276, Mariposa, CA 95338, or dropped off at the Sheriff’s Office located at 5099 Old Highway North in Mariposa.

Checks can be made payable to the Mariposa County Deputy Sheriff’s Association.
