Empowering Community: Fire Safe Council Survey Needs YOU!

MOUNTAIN COMMUNITIES–The Eastern Madera Fire Safe Council (EMCFSC) is building plans for regional high-impact fuel reduction measures. Although projects are developed in close collaboration and council with agency experts, they need to have citizen voices accounted for. They need to hear from residents.

The most effective plans to develop a more fire-adapted community and fire-resistant landscape are going to include the eyes and ears of the private landowners and community stakeholders. As EMCFSC expands the regional hazard mapping, piecing together projects that have a large amount of community member support can be identified through this collection of residents’ thoughts, concerns, and ideas.

Community wildfire-season preparedness is also of great concern. Please join them in a community plan development by giving some of your time to participate in this survey. EMCFSC can then share your concerns and comments with the planning collaborative. This will build a more accurate picture of the needs of residents in the community.

About Eastern Madera County Fire Safe Council

The EMCFSC’s goal is to generate programs that increase our community’s wildfire resilience, whether that be by education, larger scale community fuel reduction projects, or programs to help individual homeowners. As a non-profit, we will be seeking out funding to implement impactful wildfire fuel reduction projects for our community. Our goal is to help create a safer Eastern Madera County for all at risk from the dangers of wildfire.
