MARIPOSA–The 18th Annual Art, Wine & Wheels event is a fundraising event for the Rotary Club of Mariposa Yosemite. It is also a fun gathering for residents and visitors to Mariposa County. We feature locally produced wines in conjunction with a variety of artwork created by regional artists. To add to the atmosphere, we present jazz music and a variety of food from local eateries. There are also many antique and classic cars on display.
Courthouse Tours & Artists in Action
Our prior seventeen events have had an estimated attendance of over 500. In addition to Courthouse tours conducted by Mariposa County Superior Court judges, activities throughout the day will include “Artists in Action,” where local artists will demonstrate their art and provide commentary, and a hands-on creativity area for kids.
Book Sale & Food and Drinks
The local Friends of the Library will be conducting a used book sale. The food court will feature Lemon Drop hot dogs and drinks, L&J’s Tacos, All About Wurst, Matsumoto Samurai’s Kitchen, and Mariposa Fry Bread Company.
Entertainment & Beer
Ongoing raffles of many contributed artistic creations, including a basket with a hidden $100 bill, will be part of the entertainment. The Blue Skies Trio, a smooth jazz band, will play music all day. Also, Mariposa’s favorite brewery, 1850, will have several of their beers on tap.
Date, Times and Details
The festival will be held on May 25, 2024, on the Historic Mariposa County Courthouse lawn, beginning at 11 a.m.
While entry to the festival is free, funds are raised through the raffle and by selling imprinted wine glasses with 6 tasting tickets ($20) for sampling wines from various wineries. In addition, we seek support from our local community, artists and businesses through event participation, the sale of booth spaces, and sponsorships.
Rotary uses the funds raised for numerous Community Giving grants to many local organizations, disaster relief efforts, scholarships for local students, and humanitarian projects through both club sponsored activities and through Rotary International.
