Betty Berk is an Expressionist painter. She uses bold color combinations to express her inner world on the landscapes of her canvasses. Her passion of playing her piano has deeply impacted her art. She wants the viewer to experience each painting like she experiences the classical music she plays.
This has developed into expressive and sometimes, vigorous brushwork. She also paints still lifes and figurative work. Her poetry of color project includes a poem for each color on the color wheel and black, white and gold. An accompanying painting of each and the poems will go on display at Fresno City Hall in November of 2015.
