Hello. My name is Tim Curley and I am running for the Madera County Board of Education Area 1 seat representing portions of Bass Lake, Chawanakee, Golden Valley, and Yosemite Unified School Districts. My wife Sarah and I have lived in Coarsegold since 2002 and we have raised our four children in this wonderful community. All four of our children have attended local schools.
As a member of the Madera County Board of Education, I will work hard to make sure that every child in Madera County, with a particular focus on those living in our more rural and mountain communities, has the same opportunity to be the absolute best they can be. Other than the homes in which our children are raised, the education that our children receive makes the greatest contribution towards their future success. I will be an advocate at the local, state and national levels, leading and supporting initiatives that address the many challenges our children and families face. From state and federal funding for schools, to the health and wellbeing of our students, to the resources and support available to parents and families, the challenges and opportunities are immense. I will tackle those challenges and leverage those opportunities with a sense of purpose and urgency.
My thirty years of professional and volunteer work make me an ideal candidate for this position. My professional work has taken me from Washington, D.C to Fresno to Madera where I have been involved in health care policy and children’s issues for the last 30 years. I currently serve as Director of Community and Government Relations at Valley Children’s Healthcare. My volunteer activities include serving as a prior volunteer for Growing Together Inc. through which I tutored intercity children in Washington, D.C., serving as a prior member of the Yosemite Unified School District Board of Trustees, serving as a prior member of the Yosemite Little Board of Directors, and currently serving as a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California.
Please be sure to vote on November 3rd and when you do vote, please vote for Tim Curley, Madera County Board of Education Area 1.
