MADERA COUNTY — A man drowned Sunday afternoon near the Lewis Creek National Recreation Trail, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office is reporting.
Authorities say they received a call just before 5 p.m. about a possible drowning victim at the trail near Highway 41 and Cedar Valley Drive.
The victim was rescued from the water and CPR was performed by first responders but the man died at the scene.
Additional details, including the identity of the victim, have yet to be released.
