Madera County Sheriff’s Log for February 4-10, 2020

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Tuesday, February 4, to Monday, February 10, 2020.

Oakhurst -Danger to Self
On Tuesday, February 4, at 7:14 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to Road 425B regarding a hold. Report written and case closed.

Coarsegold -Warrant Arrest
On Tuesday, February 4, at 10:04 a.m., the Madera Sheriff’s POP Team conducted warrant services in the mountain division. A female subject was located on Apache Road in Coarsegold with two confirmed warrants out of Madera County. She was arrested, cited and released on scene for the warrants. Case closed.

Coarsegold – Aggravated Assault
On Tuesday, February 4, at 10:17 a.m., a deputy responded to a dispatch call on Cheyenne Road regarding a landlord tenant dispute which resulted in a battery. Both parties wanted to press charges, case forwarded to the DA’s office for misdemeanor battery charges.

Oakhurst – Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest
On Tuesday, February 4, at 7:59 p.m., a deputy made contact with a male and female subject near Highway 49 for a verbal argument. Argument was determined to only be verbal. Female half was found to have a misdemeanor warrant out of Madera County. Female was cited and released for the warrant.

Oakhurst – Found Property
On Wednesday, February 5, at 11:02 a.m., a cadet was dispatched to the Road 620 regarding found property. Recommend case to be closed.

North Fork – Danger to Self
On Wednesday, February 5, at 10:59 a.m., a deputy responded to a dispatch call on Teaford Poyah regarding a subject who was refusing to eat and get out of bed. The subject was determined to be gravely disabled and a danger to herself, a W&I 5150 was placed and EMS transported the patient to a medical facility.

Oakhurst – Danger to Self
On Wednesday, February 5, at 12:07 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Road 425B regarding a hold. Report written and case closed.

Coarsegold – Search Warrant
On Thursday, February 6, at 7:03 a.m., Madera County Sheriff’s Office deputies served a search warrant in the Mountain Division.

Oakhurst – Public Intoxication
On Thursday, February 6, at 9:28 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the area of Civic Circle regarding a subject who was standing in the middle of the road way with a beer in his hand. Subject was contacted and subsequently arrested for being drunk in public. Case will be forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed.

Oakhurst – Theft
On Thursday, February 6, at 11:36 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to CA-49 regarding a theft that occurred. An investigation was conducted and a report was written. Case closed.

Oakhurst – Vandalism
On Thursday, February 6, at 1:15 p.m., a cadet was dispatched to Pierce Drive regarding vandalism. Recommend case to be closed due to a lack of investigative leads.

Coarsegold – Fraud
On Thursday, February 6, at 6:22 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Lucky Lane for a report of found property of possible fraudulent items. An investigation was completed and a report was written. Case to be forwarded to Madera County Sheriff Detective Unit for follow up

O’Neals – Theft
On Friday, February 7, at 9:01 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to Road 200 regarding the theft of medications. There was no evidence or witnesses. Case to be closed.

North Fork – Burglary
On Friday, February 7, at 11:19 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to  Mission Drive regarding a cold vehicle burglary. Latent evidence was collected at the scene. Report to be forwarded to the ID TECH for review.

Coarsegold – Found Narcotics
On Friday, February 7, at 3:27 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Lucky Lane regarding a controlled substance that was found. This report is for documentation only. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst – Warrant Arrest 
On Friday, February 7, at 3:47 p.m., a deputy conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Highway 41. A subject was found to have four misdemeanor warrants out of Madera County. Subject was subsequently arrested and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections.

Bass Lake – Altercation
On Saturday, February 8, at 2:01 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Road 432 for a report of a physical altercation that occurred at a bar and all parties involved were separated. An investigation was conducted and no charges were requested by all parties involved. No further action.

Ahwahnee – Theft
On Saturday, February 8, at 6:54 a.m, a deputy was dispatched to the Fox Hollow Springs Circle regarding a theft by scam. Report to be forwarded to detectives.

Coarsegold – Missing Adult
On Saturday, February 8, at 7:57 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Liberty Drive for a telephonic report for a missing adult in the area of Lucky Lane. A statement was obtained and the female adult was entered into MUPS by dispatch. Report taken.

Oakhurst – Theft
On Saturday, February 8, at 11:04 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to River Park Road for a report of a theft of a bicycle. A report was written and followup will be conducted at a later date.

Oakhurst – Aggravated Assault
On Saturday, February 8, at 11:24 p.m., deputies were dispatched to CA-41 for a report of a subject that had been assaulted. A subject was located with major injuries however refused medical attention. A report was written and forwarded to the Madera County District Attorneys Office for filing of felony charges.

Coarsegold – Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident
On Sunday, February 9, at 2:09 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to CA-41 in regards to a vehicle accident. The two occupants of the vehicle were found to be deceased. An investigation was conducted and report was written.

Coarsegold – Coroner’s Report
On Monday, February 10, at 10:39 a.m.,  I responded to Maid Marion Drive for an unresponsive male. Before deputy arrived the male subject had died due to health problems. The family of the decedent was notified in person and funeral arrangements were made by family. Forwarded report to Coroner’s Office for review.
