Car Hits Boulder along Road 274, Injured Driver Airlifted

BASS LAKE — A 33-year-old Wishon woman was airlifted to a Fresno hospital following a single-vehicle traffic accident that happened Wednesday around 2:30 p.m.

The incident, which occurred on Road 274 west of Marina View Drive, started after the woman’s vehicle failed to navigate a turn, skidded off the road, hit a large rock and then rolled multiple times.

According to the CHP report, the woman was traveling westbound on Road 274 in a 2007 Ford at a “stated” speed of 60 mph.

“The subject allowed her vehicle to make an unsafe turn to the right,” said the CHP report. “The subject’s vehicle collided with a large boulder and overturned several times.”

The Ford came to rest “on its wheels approximately 30 feet from the roadway,” the report adds. “The subject was able to exit the vehicle on her own until being assisted by emergency personnel.”

The victim, whose name has yet to be released, reportedly suffered serious spinal injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, according to the CHP report.

Her current condition is unknown.
