RAYMOND – At 12:56 pm on May 21st, 2022 A grass fire was reported behind a residence near Barn Owl Rd and Road 613. This is a high level dispatch fire.
1 plus acre burning in grass and oak woodland. Moderate rate of spread, burning toward Road 800. Potential for 20 acres.
Air attack inbound from Fresno as well as two air tankers from Columbia Air Base, with additional resources requested. Investigator enroute. Currently 3 structures threatened.
Fire crews are working on preventing fire from jumping road.
Dozer and Helicopter are managing spot fire.
Roads in the fire area are CLOSED with the exception of emergency vehicles and residents.
At Approximately 2 pm good progress was being made on the fire. Fire is holding at 15 to 20 acres with a Dozer line around 50% of the fire.
Air Tankers over the fire are in a holding pattern.
At Approximately 2:30 pm Air resources were released from the incident and the fire has been contained to 25 acres.
