National Weather Service Issues Flood Watch

MOUNTAIN COMMUNITIESThe National Weather Service Hanford Office issued a flood watch for the Sierra Nevada Foothills below 4000-foot elevation. The flood watch is effective from Thursday afternoon at 4:00 pm until Sunday morning at 10:00 am.

For more information on the weather that is expected this week, see our article here.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.
