Collaborative Efforts & Artistic Vision
Additionally, to bring this project to life, EMCF collaborated with Visit Yosemite | Madera County, local businesses, and artists. Specifically, each of the 25 banners features a welcome message on one side and original artwork on the other, showcasing local artists’ interpretations of the area’s natural beauty. The banners were displayed across Coarsegold, Oakhurst, North Fork, and Bass Lake from Memorial Day through ARTober.
Rachael Snedecor emphasized the project’s impact on the community.
“When thinking streetscape beautification, it made total sense to bring our artists and business community together to create an Art Banner project that celebrates all of the amazing reasons we love where we live,” she said.
“With the support of the Eastern Madera County Foundation and Visit Yosemite | Madera County organizations, this grass roots effort has been a spectacular showcase of the visual artists and a stellar welcome to our visitors,” said Rachael. “It has been a joy to be apart of it!”
Looking Ahead
All in all, with this soiree, EMCF will hold its first auction of the Community Art Banners. Organizers plan top introduce new banners each summer, hosting an annual auction every November. Through this initiative, EMCF aims to connect the mountain towns of Easter Madera County, enhance local spaces, and support cultural projects that benefit residents and visitors.
