Yosemite Tioga Road Temporarily Closing

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARKYosemite National Park officials have announced that Tioga Road (the continuation of Highway 120 through the park) will temporarily close today, October 25, at 6 pm, due to a forecast of snow.

UPDATE

As 12:00pm Thursday, October 26, 2023 Tioga Road has been reopened.

Meteorologists are predicting a cold front will pass across Central California tonight, resulting in the possibility of rain and high elevation snow in the Sierra Nevada from Fresno County northward. Snow levels will be around 8,000 feet this evening, before falling to about 7,000 feet tonight.

According to the Yosemite National Park current conditions website page, the other entrances to the park are open. These are:

Wawona Road (continuation of Highway 41 from Fresno)
El Portal Road (continuation of Highway 140 from Merced)
Big Oak Flat Road (continuation of Highway 120 from Manteca)
