A few days ago I posted some roadside color taken on the drive to the Valley, where I walked to Mirror Lake and explored the Valley a little. It was a misty day and unusually quiet and empty of people (like it used to be when I came in the fifties.)
I posted a different but similar shot on the Yosemite Facebook page the other day.
Willows
Black oaks are looking nice on the east end, big leaf maples on the west. If you go, I suggest driving the west end loop (Fern Spring etc.) first before continuing into the Valley.
Even the store looks good.
Ravens hang around wherever you go, especially at Mirror Lake.
They mate for life. Usually the male hangs around, with the (smaller) female often following when it is deemed safe (I suppose.)
