MADERA — The Madera County Arts Council (MCAC) is kicking off 2025 with two significant milestones, showcasing its commitment to enriching the community through arts and culture.

On Thursday, January 30th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the MCAC Gallery will host the Opening Reception for Yosemite Renaissance 39. This exhibition features 55 captivating works by 54 artists from across the United States. It celebrates the beauty and inspiration of Yosemite and the surrounding Sierra region. Moreover, the reception is free to attend and will feature light appetizers, providing attendees with an evening of art, community, and conversation.

Significantly, Yosemite Renaissance 39 highlights the diverse talents of artists who explore themes of nature, preservation, and the human connection to the environment. In addition, the exhibition is a testament to MCAC’s dedication to bringing world-class art to Madera County.

MCAC Earn Good Neighbor Award

Additionally, the MCAC was recently honored with the prestigious Good Neighbor Award by the Madera Association of Realtors as part of their 2024 Presidential Citation. This recognition highlights the organization’s commitment to positively impacting the community through acts of kindness, helpfulness, and active involvement.

In response to the award, Marcel Bourdase expressed his gratitude.

“This award is a testament to the efforts and contributions of our entire team here at MCAC,” said Bourdase. 

Furthermore, he highlighted the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, from the board of directors to the gallery staff.  He also acknowledged the contributions of after-school programs teaching artists and artists in residency.

Celebrate with MCAC

As a private, non-profit organization, the Madera County Arts Council continues to uphold its mission of enriching the county. It promotes arts access and education, supports local artists, and contributes to economic development through the arts. Consequently, the council has become an indispensable part of the community’s cultural fabric.

Moreover, with the upcoming Yosemite Renaissance 39 reception and Good Neighbor Award, MCAC is starting the year strong. Therefore, the organization reaffirms its role as a vital part of the Madera County community.
