OAKHURST — Yosemite High School has announced Jeremiah Aycock as its new head football coach. He will bring a fresh vision and extensive experience to the Badgers’ football program. Yosemite Unified School District Superintendent Brain Beck made the announcement, expressing enthusiasm about Aycock’s appointment and the dynamic he brings to the team.
From Player to Coach
Originally from Fresno, Aycock began his career at Fresno High School. He then advanced to play collegiately at Texas College and Trinity Bible College. Subsequently, his professional journey took him across Europe and South America, where he competed at high levels. After retiring, he decided to focus on coaching and pastoral work.
After returning to his roots, Aycock shifted gears to coaching and has spent over a decade refining his skills and knowledge of the game. Previously, before his new role at Yosemite High, he served as the offensive coordinator at Madera High School. There, he led the team to its first-ever Valley Championship. Moreover, he played an integral role in establishing the football program at Matilda Torres High School from its inception.
A Leader On & Off the Field
In addition to his coaching duties, Aycock is also the pastor of The Word Community Church, demonstrating his commitment to his community and his passion for leadership.
“I have always been driven by a passion to raise and guide youth to reach their full potential — whether on the football field or in life,” Aycock said.
He continues, “I am thrilled to bring this winning mentality to YHS and ready to paint the town blue. Go, Badgers!”
Furthermore, Superintendent Beck highlighted Aycock’s dual commitment to sport and community as key factors in his hiring.
“His talent, mindset, and dedication to both the sport and community shine through in all he does. We cannot wait to see him lead our program and student-athletes to the next level,” Beck said.
Meet the Coach
Finally, to formally introduce Coach Aycock to the community, YHS will host a meet-and-greet session. This event for parents and community members is scheduled for Friday, January 31st, at 5:30 p.m. in the YHS Library. Additionally, this event provides an opportunity for personal engagement with the new coach and a chance to discuss the future direction of the football program.
Overall, there is a sense of anticipation within the school and community. Many are eager to see the new heights the Badgers’ football program may achieve under Aycock’s leadership.
