Visit The Oakhurst Farmers' Market

Organizers are reporting the 2nd Annual Oakhurst Farmers’ Market is doing record business this year. The Farmers’ Market is held every Thursday from 4 – 7pm at True Value Homecenter, 40596 Westlake Drive (on Hwy 49) and will run into early fall,

“Like many other communities across the country, we found residents of Oakhurst want locally grown fresh produce, prepared foods and hand-crafted products,” said Theresa Bryant, one of the members of the Bryant family, owners of True Value Homecenter. “People appreciate knowing where their food comes from and buying fresh/buying local is one of the best ways to follow that trend.

“Shopping the Oakhurst Farmers’ Market is a fun way to see your neighbors and pick up healthy food at the same time.”

Market manager Sheila Smith says, “The market features everything from vegetables, stone fruit, berries, flowers, eggs, honey, artisan goods, preserves and much more. So far this year, the market has expanded to 20 + booths and local entertainment. We have added some great culinary vendors this year too.

“The area has many fine artisan chefs and we are really excited to feature their wonderful fresh cuisine to go along with the fine produce and other healthy food items available at the market each week.”

The market is open free of charge to the public and participating vendors. Market organizers are always on the lookout for new growers, artisans and entertainment to keep the market exciting and growing.
