Vegetation Fire In Bootjack Area Of Mariposa County

MARIPOSA COUNTY — Firefighters are at scene of a vegetation fire burning in the Bootjack area of Mariposa County.

At 1:45 p.m., reports came in of a smoke in the area of 3335 Wildcat Road, just east of Hirsch Road.

Battalion Chief 4212 was first at scene, and reported the fire at approximately 2-3 acres with a moderate rate of spread, with structures threatened.

Air tankers were dispatched from Columbia, and a full wildland dispatch was called up.

By about 2:05 p.m. firefighters had a hose lay around the perimeter, and a few minutes later, resources were being released or diverted to other incidents.
