Vegetation Fire Along Road 400 Near Hensley Lake

RAYMOND — For the second time today, firefighters were dispatched to reports of a vegetation fire, this time in the Raymond/ Coarsegold area.

At about 1:40 p.m., crews were called out to a fire on Road 400 near the dam at Hensley Lake.

Engines from Cal Fire and Madera County Fire responded, along with Air Attack, two air tankers, two helicopters, and two Miramonte crews out of Fresno.

When Air Attack arrived overhead, they reported the fire at about four acres with a low potential for spread.

By 2:25 p.m., the forward progress had been stopped and all resources not already at scene were cancelled, except for one dozer.

The fire was contained at an estimated 4.5 acres.
