Update On The Oakwood Fire 10 AM Tuesday

MADERA COUNTY — Resources continue to be released from the Oakwood Fire, which started on Saturday, June 10, and burned along both sides of Highway 41 in the Rocky Cut area.

The fire is now 95 percent contained, and with the most accurate mapping, the final estimate of the size is 1,431 acres.

There are now just 13 personnel assigned to the incident, manning 3 engines, hitting any remaining hot spots and monitoring the burn area.

This will be our final report on the Oakwood Fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
