Thieves Strike Used Car Lot In Madera

MADERA – Thieves broke into Skinner’s Auto Wholesale in Madera sometime between Saturday night and early Sunday morning, stealing office equipment, vandalizing a Motor home, and making off with the owners Expedition.

The auto dealership is situated in the highly visible strip mall off Highway 41, located north of Children’s Boulevard, between Avenue 10 ½ and Avenue 11. The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the break-in.A padlock at the back of the building was cut in order to gain access to the office, where thieves stole all the keys to the cars parked on the lot, and nearly $9,000 worth of office equipment, including a desktop computer, monitor, external hard drive, laser printer CD players, a tool box and a Chuck Liddel autographed poster.

The suspects also stole the owner’s 1998 Silver Ford Expedition parked near the back of the property. It’s believed the suspects used that vehicle to cart the stolen property away.

Before leaving the premises, the suspects also shattered the windows of a Chevrolet Motor home and removed a $200 CD player/radio from inside.
