Soul Galaxy And Green Machine In Mariposa

MARIPOSA — The halfway point of the free Summer Concert Series, Music on the Green — brought to you by The Mariposa Co. Arts Council and its many fine sponsors — at The Art Park in historic downtown Mariposa, features two perennial staples of the series: the powerful electric Blues of Soul Galaxy on Friday, July 27, and the Reggae/Jam sounds of Green Machine on Saturday, July 28.

Soul Galaxy has, over the last five years, performed as a sextet, quintet, quartet and power trio, but always with the same nucleus of Northern California guitar phenom Tim Hagar and Los Angeles session percussionist Jon Kidd. This powerhouse group will be performing blues/rock based originals, along with guitar-centric, deep cut covers. With these seasoned pros, don’t be surprised to see a special guest or two sitting in during their evening’s performance. Read and hear more of this dynamic combo at: www.thesoulgalaxy.net

Green Machine has become a staple of Music on the Green, bringing authentic and original Reggae music and attitude to the Art Park stage for 15 years now. Recognized throughout California as the real deal, they are veterans of festivals and concert stages from the central valley, to the foothills, and over to the coast, providing a feast for the eyes with their light show, and for the ears with their trance-like Reggae jam sound. This year the group will be showcasing new material from their most recent recorded release, as well as the popular genre originals that their fervent fans have come to know and love.
