COARSEGOLD — Ladies and gentlemen, get your beans in order. It’s time for the Gold Country Chili Cook-Off, sponsored by the local Soroptimist service club, dedicated to helping women and girls in the immediate area and around the world. The sweet and spicy event takes place on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Coarsegold Community Center, from 5 to 9 p.m.
A $20 donation to the cause buys one soda, one raffle ticket, delicious chili samples, mouth-watering cornbread, toppings galore, and dessert. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase, and guests will have a great time tasting chili while listening to live music and supporting the effort of the service club.
