Snow Removal Operations Dominate Next Week’s Road Work

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Mariposa County

MARIPOSA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct the following road work next week on State Route 49 (SR-49) and SR-140.

State Route 49
• One-way traffic control between Stumpfield Mountain Road and Tiptop-Usona Road for utility work on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Long-term one-way traffic control at Bagby Vista Point for slide removal.

State Route 140
• State Route 140 is currently closed between Bear Creek Ridge and Cedar Lodge until further notice, snow is removed, and the roadway is safe for travel.

The SR-140 full closure between Buffalo Creek Road south of Briceburg and Foresta Road near Incline/El Portal is now OPEN!

• State Route 140 is currently closed between Foresta Road and El Portal Road until further notice, snow is removed, and the roadway is safe for travel.

Motorists should expect 5- to 20-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. This work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, equipment and/or materials availability, and construction-related issues.
