Shooting Results in Felon’s Arrest

MADERA — A Madera man was arrested on multiple felony charges after a shooting incident led authorities to recover an illegal firearm and ammunition.

Suspect Found with “Ghost Gun”

On February 20, 2025, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Madera County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the 28000 block of Avenue 14 in Madera. Witnesses said that the suspect fired from a gray Kia Soul toward a home and parked vehicle on the property. Authorities later identified the suspect as 34-year-old Jessie Pulido. The homeowners reportedly knew the suspect.

During their investigation, deputies discovered that Pulido had reported vandalism to his vehicle, the same gray Kia Soul, to the Madera Police Department. This led authorities to obtain a search warrant for his residence in the 600 block of South Madera Avenue.

On the morning of February 21, deputies executed the search warrant and recovered a 9mm “ghost gun” with an extended magazine. They also found other extended magazines, over 50 rounds of ammunition, and shell casings. The casings matched those found at the original crime scene.

Deputies took Pulido into custody without incident and booked him into the Madera County Jail on multiple felony charges. The charges included possession of a firearm by a felon and shooting at an inhabited dwelling and vehicle.

Madera County Sheriff Tyson Pogue praised the deputies’ quick response and investigative efforts.

“I commend the swift and thorough investigation by deputies in this case,” said Pogue.
