BASS LAKE — Madera County Sheriff’s investigators continue their search for two suspects who robbed and beat a woman in her home in the Bass Lake Annex on Saturday evening.
At about 7:30 p.m., the Madera County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a home invasion robbery in the 36000 block of Cedar Lane near Bass Lake.
When deputies arrived they found that a 77-year-old female and her adult son had been robbed by two suspects who had knocked on the door and then forced their way into the home.
The female sustained significant injuries and was transported to a hospital in Fresno; her adult son was not injured.
One suspect was described as tall and thin with long hair, the other suspect was described as shorter and stockier. Both suspects were wearing sweatshirts; the taller suspect had a hood and mask.
The male victim further described the suspects as possibly Native American.
The two men apparently ransacked the house and stole at least a handgun, according to the Sheriff’s Office. It has not been determined if additional property was taken during the robbery.
The suspects reportedly left on foot and there is no suspect vehicle description.
According to a friend of the family, the victim of the assault is critically injured and is on life support.
Sheriff’s personnel are actively investigating this case at this hour.
