ALL SOLD OUT – – Scouts Christmas Trees At North Fork Library

NORTH FORK – The Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from Troop 357 have been busy havesting fresh red fir trees, otherwise known as silver tip, for their annual Christmas Tree Sale at the North Fork Library.

The trees will be available starting Saturday, Dec. 1, at the North Fork Library parking lot, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, and from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Cost is $2.75 per foot.About 30 Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts have been working hard to cut the 400 trees, and will use the proceeds to fund scout camp and trips, buy books, badges and magazines, and pay for such things as insurance.

Scoutmaster Dave Smith has been heading up the Christmas tree project for the past 38 years. “I think it may have been going on since the mid-40’s, but I’ve been at it since 1974,” says Smith.

This is an important fundraiser for the Scouts, and everyone’s opportunity to support them while finding just the perfect tree for the holidays.

  1. Will they be having a tree sale this year (2013) and if so, what day do they start selling?
